The Aeroflow high output alternator range offers a solution to the inadequate alternator that comes from the factory on many performance vehicles. Especially when it comes time for modifications and power adders with extra electrics on board. Even mild performance builds will typically consume more amperage than what the stock alternator can provide. These alternators help to provide more amperage across the RPM range. All feature a larger 3" diameter pulley for higher revving engines. The great feature with these alternators is these units will bolt directly in place of the OEM alternator. All alternators are finished in a stealth black finish.

This Alternator uses the electrical plug connector (AF49-1700) from a Mazda series 6, 7 and 8. As well as a 5PK pulley instead of a V-Belt pulley, which is a common upgrade for a better belt.

In order for an alternator to charge properly, an alternator must be grounded to the engine block. If an alternator has paint or clear coat on the mounting surfaces, it may not be grounded and will not charge. Many mounting brackets are also powder coated, clear coated, painted, or plated. The alternator will not ground properly without a ground wire from the alternator housing to the engine block. (This wire should match charge wire size).

A fully charged battery is at least 12.6V, not 12.0V. A weak/defective battery will cause premature failure. Never disconnect the battery with engine running! This causes voltage spikes that will damage the alternator.
